just a sunday like any other....

i dont like to watch sports on television, but i enjoy attending sporting events. it's like there's something about the energy at game that is intoxicating. that's it, that's what i like... the intoxicating energy... on yeah, and the crap food.

i am more likely to watch the superbowl on television than i am to watch the oscars.

four years ago i had the pleasure of attending the academy awards (when it was still at the Shrine downtown). like a sporting event, the energy at that event was high, but much less intoxicating than a sporting event, and there's no food (not even a place to plant to snack on olives and cherries -- salad bar style). it should be mandatory that any event longer than one hour in duration should have some sort of food availble for the patrons -- at the very least have an onsite vending machine. in a hypoglycemic state, it would not have taken much for me to tell someone that i invented post-it notes. in fact, we were so hungry during the event that we padded down a seat filler for his pocketsful of granola bars, just like he was our very own vending machine... so there we were, visions of loveliness in our ball gowns, hobnobbing with celebs, drinking vodka tonics and chomping on chewy granola bars.

need another reason to dislike the academy awards??

here's one: come over and listen to the sound of all the fucking helicopters hovering overhead because of the after award-show parties going on in my neighborhood.
